MK3 Ford Focus RS Wheels
The MK3 Focus RS runs a 5×108 bolt pattern on a 63.4mm hub, a combination that quietly rules out most of the aftermarket before you start shopping. Project 6GR builds one square fitment for this chassis, 19×9.5 +42, developed around the four-piston Brembo front package and the demands of the AWD driveline.

Chassis Fitment
Does This Fit My Focus RS?
This fitment is built for the MK3 Focus RS, model years 2016 through 2018. Every US-market car in that range shares the same hub, the same 5×108 pattern, and the same four-piston Brembo front brakes, so one spec covers the entire production run. There are no trim splits to work around and no package that changes the answer.
The Focus ST shares the chassis hardware, and the 19×9.5 +42 spec carries over to it cleanly. ST cars without the RS Brembo package have more room at smaller diameters, so if you are running a stock-braked ST and want something below 19 inches, reach out and we will spec it. Earlier Focus RS generations are a different chassis entirely. MK1 and MK2 cars run different hub geometry and are not covered by this fitment.

MK3 Focus RS OEM Fitment
Here is what the car left the factory on. The standard RS ran a 19×8 twenty-spoke cast wheel on Pilot Super Sports, with a ten-spoke forged version available alongside the Cup 2 tire. A third wheel came with the Winter Wheel and Tire Package, an 18×7.5 in sparkle silver on 225/40R18 Michelin Pilot Alpins, optional in the US and standard on Canadian cars.
All three ran a +50 offset, which seats the face deep in the barrel. It is safe and it clears everything, and it also leaves the arches emptier than the car deserves and gives the wheel almost no room for concavity.
The 5×108 pattern is the constraint that defines this platform. It is shared with European Fords, Volvos, and a handful of Jaguars, and it is why RS owners spend more time hunting for wheels than owners of almost any other performance car in this class.

MK3 Focus RS Wheel Fitment Guide
One square setup covers the chassis. We kept the 19-inch diameter the RS was engineered around, widened to 9.5 inches for real tire, and pulled the offset from +50 down to +42 so the face sits flush with the arch instead of hiding inside it. Same wheel on all four corners, which is the only correct answer on this car and the reason is mechanical rather than stylistic.
Two tire sizes work on this width. A 255/35R19 gives you the fuller sidewall and the more forgiving street ride. A 265/30R19 puts more contact patch down and sits closer to the factory rolling diameter. Both clear without fender work on stock ride height.

Factory 19-inch diameter is 25.5″. The 255/35R19 runs roughly 2% taller and the 265/30R19 roughly 1% shorter, so expect a small speedometer shift either way. Both are square across all four corners, so the AWD system sees matched circumference regardless of which you choose.
Brembo Clearance: Every MK3 Focus RS carries four-piston Brembo front calipers, which is why 17-inch wheels are effectively off the table on this chassis and why spoke geometry matters more here than on a standard hatch. All three Project 6GR models in this fitment clear the factory Brembos without spacers or modification. Wheels are machined hub-centric to 63.4mm, so the wheel rides on the hub rather than the studs, and no centering rings are required. Factory TPMS sensors carry over, and the wheels accept your OE Ford center caps.

Engineering
Why One Square Fitment Is the Right Fitment
Most wheel pages hand you a wall of sizes and leave you to guess. On the RS that approach is worse than lazy, because the car imposes a constraint that a lot of setups quietly violate.
The RS drives all four wheels through a twin-clutch rear drive unit that reads and reacts to rotational speed at every corner. Feed it four tires of matched rolling circumference and it does exactly what Ford designed it to do. Feed it a staggered setup, or four tires of meaningfully different diameter, and the system spends its time managing a difference that should not exist. Square is not a preference on this platform. It is the configuration the driveline was engineered around, and it carries the practical benefit of full tire rotation on a car that eats front rubber.
Offset is where the aftermarket goes wrong on the RS. The factory +50 buries the face. Drop too far below +42 and the tire starts poking past the arch and catching liner under compression. We landed on +42 across a 9.5 inch width because it moves the face out to the body line, opens up genuine concavity, and still keeps the tire inside the fender through full suspension travel.
Then there is the 5×108 problem. It is a rarer pattern than 5×114.3 or 5×112, and it is the reason RS owners get pushed toward adapters. Adapters add unsprung weight, introduce a failure point, and shift the wheel outboard in a way that changes your scrub radius. We machine the pattern directly. No adapters, no rings, no corners cut.
Verified Suspension
MK3 Focus RS Lowering Springs and Wheel Fitment
The 19×9.5 +42 spec holds on a lowered car. Bolt pattern, hub bore, and offset do not change with ride height. What changes is tire clearance at full compression and your alignment, and both are manageable with the right parts.
Drops in the 0.8 to 1.2 inch range are straightforward on either tire size. Go deeper, or move to a coilover with real corner adjustment, and camber correction becomes part of the conversation rather than an afterthought. Get an alignment after any suspension change, no exceptions.
| Brand | Best For | Typical Drop | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eibach Pro-Kit | Street / Daily | ~0.8" F / ~0.8" R | Lowering springs. Progressive front rate with a comfort bias, roughly 20mm at both ends. The most common first suspension change on an RS and the safest pairing with either tire size on stock dampers. |
| Eibach Sportline | Stance / Aggressive | ~1.2"+ | Lowering springs. The most aggressive drop in the Eibach range. Delivers a noticeably tighter arch gap. Confirm driveway and speed bump clearance before committing. |
| Mountune | Street / OEM+ | 0.4" F / 0.6" R | Sport Spring Kit. The mildest drop on this list and the most conservative choice, developed by Ford Performance's RS program partner and validated in the UK and USA. The pick when you want to close the arch gap without touching ride quality or warranty comfort. |
| H&R Sport | Street / Daily | 0.8" to 1.0" | Lowering springs, roughly 20mm to 25mm. Firmer than the Eibach Pro-Kit with tighter body control. H&R also offers a coilover for owners who want ride height adjustment without moving to a full track setup. |
| aFe Control | Street / Handling | 0.7" F / 1.1" R | Lowering springs with a rake-correcting bias that levels the car front to rear. Commonly sold alongside Steeda's supporting catalog of camber bolts, bushings, and rear links, which is the practical route when the drop is part of a broader handling plan. |
| Whiteline | Track / Autocross | 0.6" F / 1.2" R | Lowering springs at 201 lb/in front and 241 lb/in rear, part of a full chassis-control line including sway bars and adjustable arms. Strong pick when camber correction is already part of the build. |
| Pedders | Street / Daily | 0.78" F / 1.18" R | SportsRyder coil spring kit and matched damper packages. Australian engineering with a balanced street character. Underrated in the RS community and worth a look if ride quality is the priority. |
| KW | Premium Coilover | Fully adjustable | Coilover. Variant 1, 2, and 3 options with independent height and damping control. The most capable setup on this list and the most expensive. Uncommon on street RS builds, standard on serious track cars. Corner balance and alignment are mandatory after install. |
Wheel Collection
Project 6GR Wheels for the MK3 Ford Focus RS
Three models are built to this fitment, all Spun Forged, all at the same 19×9.5 +42. Pricing starts at $2,060 per wheel across all three models for this fitment.
If your build sits outside this fitment, whether that is a wider stance setup, a dedicated track diameter, or a big brake package that changes the clearance math, we build custom forged to spec. Talk to a fitment expert and we will work out the numbers before anything gets machined.
Unsprung Mass
Spun Forged: Where the Weight Comes Off
A wheel is unsprung and rotating, so weight removed there does more work than weight removed anywhere else on the car. The suspension reacts faster over broken pavement, turn-in sharpens, and the brakes and driveline have less rotational inertia to fight. On a car built to change direction like the RS, that is felt in the first corner.
Our Spun Forged process starts with a cast aluminum blank that is spun and formed under high pressure while heated. Compressing the barrel material produces a wheel that is lighter and structurally stronger than a conventional cast wheel, without the lead time or cost of a full billet forging.
Two factory baselines matter here, because Ford offered both. The standard RS ran a 19×8 cast wheel at roughly 28 lb, and the optional Cup 2 car ran a 19×8 forged wheel at roughly 26 lb.
Here is the part that matters. Our fitment is 19×9.5, a full inch and a half wider than either factory wheel, and the TEN still comes in 5.10 lb lighter per corner than the cast wheel it replaces and 3.10 lb lighter than the factory forged. Wider and lighter at the same time is the whole point of the construction.

Common Questions
MK3 Focus RS Wheel FAQ
Project 6GR builds one verified fitment for the MK3 Focus RS: 19x9.5 with a +42 offset, square on all four corners. The factory car ran either 18x7.5 +50 or 19x8 +50, so this spec keeps the 19-inch diameter and adds an inch and a half of width while pulling the face out to the body line. It clears the Brembo brakes and the fenders on stock ride height.
The MK3 Focus RS uses a 5x108 bolt pattern, also written as 5x4.25 inches, with M12x1.5 lug hardware torqued to 100 ft-lbs. It is a less common pattern than 5x114.3, shared mostly with European Fords, Volvos, and some Jaguars, which is why aftermarket selection is thinner on this chassis than on most performance cars.
The RS has a 63.4mm center bore. Project 6GR wheels are machined hub-centric to that exact measurement, so the wheel seats on the hub and carries the load through it rather than through the studs. No centering rings, ever. Most aftermarket wheels ship with a larger generic bore and rely on plastic or aluminum rings to make up the difference.
Square. The RS sends power to all four wheels through a rear drive unit that reads rotational speed at every corner, and it works properly when all four tires share the same rolling circumference. A staggered setup introduces a difference the system then has to manage. Square also lets you rotate tires, which matters on a car that works its front rubber hard.
Yes. All three models in this fitment clear the four-piston front Brembos without spacers or modification. Brembo clearance is the main reason 17-inch wheels are difficult on this chassis and part of why we build the RS fitment at 19 inches.
Either a 255/35R19 or a 265/30R19. The 255 comes in at 26.0 inches overall and gives you more sidewall for street comfort. The 265 measures 25.3 inches, sits closer to the 25.5 inch factory diameter, and puts down more contact patch. Both fit without fender work on stock ride height.
Yes. The MK3 Focus ST shares the 5x108 pattern and the 63.4mm hub bore, so the 19x9.5 +42 fitment carries over directly. ST cars without the RS Brembo package have more clearance to work with at smaller diameters, so if you want something under 19 inches on a stock-braked ST, contact us and we will spec it for your build.
Yes to both. Project 6GR wheels are machined to accept the OE Ford center caps for this chassis, so you keep the factory badge if you want it. Your existing TPMS sensors carry straight over with no reprogramming or aftermarket replacement needed.
Yes. Offset, bolt pattern, and hub bore do not change with ride height. Drops in the 0.8 to 1.2 inch range work with either tire size on unmodified fenders. Past that, or on a coilover setup with real corner adjustment, plan on camber correction and get a proper alignment afterward.
