Shipping aftermarket wheels is different from shipping most products. The weight, the finish, the engineering are all at risk the moment a box leaves our facility. Project 6GR shipping insurance was built around that reality, not as an afterthought.
What sets our coverage apart is simple: we handle it entirely ourselves. No third-party claim portals. No automated denials. When you add shipping insurance to your order, you’re working directly with us from the moment something goes wrong to the moment a replacement is in your hands.
At $48 per set, it’s the most straightforward protection you can add to your purchase.
What's Covered
Our shipping insurance protects every wheel in your order against two things: damage and loss while in transit.
100% Transit Damage Coverage
If your wheels arrive damaged, you're covered for the full cost of replacement, up to $1,000 per wheel. For reference, standard carrier liability defaults to $100 per box without additional coverage. On a set of forged wheels, that gap matters. Our insurance closes it completely.
100% Coverage Against Loss
If your order is lost in transit, coverage applies in full. We'll work directly with you to get a replacement out as quickly as possible.
$48 Per Set
Coverage is applied automatically at checkout with the option to remove it before completing your purchase. We include it by default because we think the peace of mind is worth it; but the choice is yours.
How to File a Claim
The process is intentionally simple. You’re not navigating a carrier portal or filing with a third-party insurer. You’re working with us directly.
Step 1: Inspect your wheels before mounting tires.
Once tires are installed, we’re unable to process a damage claim. Take a few minutes to inspect each wheel as soon as your order arrives, before heading to the tire shop.
Step 2: Submit your claim within 7 days of delivery.
Reach out to our team with photos documenting the damage. Claims must be filed no later than 7 days after your wheels are delivered.
Step 3: We send a call tag.
Once your claim is reviewed and confirmed, we’ll issue a prepaid call tag to collect the damaged wheel at no cost to you. You don’t have to coordinate anything with the carrier.
Step 4: Your replacement ships out.
We process and prepare the replacement for shipment while the damaged wheel is in transit back to us. Nearly all claims are resolved within 24 to 48 hours. Replacement wheels are subject to current inventory availability.
Why We Handle This In-House
Most wheel brands outsource shipping protection to third-party services. We chose a different approach.
We invested directly in the packaging materials and handling procedures that are engineered around our specific wheel profiles. Every order is prepared to minimize the likelihood of transit damage before it leaves our facility. Our shipping insurance program was built as the final layer of that commitment — underwritten, reviewed, and approved entirely by our team.
When something does go wrong, the same people who stand behind your wheels are the ones making it right.
Coverage Terms
A few conditions that apply to all shipping insurance claims:
- Shipping insurance covers transit damage and loss only, not road hazards or post-delivery damage. For structural and finish warranty information, see our Warranty page.
- Coverage applies up to $1,000 per wheel
- Without insurance, standard carrier liability is limited to $100 per box
- Claims must be submitted within 7 days of delivery
- Wheels must be unmounted at the time of the claim (tires not yet installed)
- Replacement wheels are subject to current inventory availability
- Shipping insurance is $48 per set, applied at checkout with the option to opt out
